This woodcut was inspired by a recent trip back to Hoi An where a lack of tourists meant you could really take in the ancient town's beautiful architecture. The pandemic and also the recent storms have really put local businesses here to the test but things are looking up as visitors slowly return.
This illustration was hand drawn from my own photography on a bike trip through the ancient town.
Single layer woodcut print, hand carved from a 20x30cm Japanese magnolia woodblock, hand printed on 80 GSM 100% cotton paper.
